It's why, to this day, I insist upon paper billing and paying bills the old way. EVERYONE tries from landlords to utilities to credit cards to force me into a completely digital reality. But once you do that, they have absolute control over your money. You no longer have it, as many find out the hard way when things go sideways.
What happens when your bills are due but you cannot, for any reason, access your accounts to pay? Your life goes into a permanent toilet that can take years to fix, just from being denied access to these accounts they swore would make your life easier.
