They're accusing him of securities fraud.

Tesla shareholders have sued CEO Elon Musk and his carmaker as part of a proposed class action lawsuit, claiming that the billionaire had hidden significant risk with the company's robotaxis.

As Reuters reports, the lawsuit charges that Tesla's failure to clarify the risks amounts to securities fraud.

It's a major escalation, highlighting significant discontent, even among its own investors, with the way the EV maker's early testing of its long-awaited autonomous ride-hailing service has panned out.

We've come across footage of robotaxis driving twice the speed limit or down the opposing lane of traffic. We've also seen them brake erratically, and jerk the steering wheel back-and-forth.

Critics have also chastised Musk's decision to rely exclusively on visual cameras — rather than LIDAR and radar sensors, like Tesla's competitors — which they say is likely to undermine the vehicles' capabilities and potentially put passengers in danger.

The latest flight of SpaceX’s Starship, the largest and most powerful rocket ever built, got all the way up to space, but not all the way back down to Earth.

The upper-stage vehicle coasted through space on Tuesday, surpassing flights in January and March that ended in explosions and showers of debris over the Atlantic Ocean. But halfway through its journey, the spacecraft sprang a propellant leak. That caused it to start spinning out of control. The Starship vehicle used in the test flight was not able to survive the intense heat, breaking up as it fell back into the atmosphere.

Tesla resale values are cratering as owners sell up amid an escalating backlash over Elon Musk's involvement with DOGE.

The average price of a used Tesla fell more than 10% in March compared to the same period last year, according to data from used car listing website iSeeCars.

This was the largest drop of any car brand in iSeeCars' data.

Prices for pre-owned Model S and Model Y vehicles collapsed 17.2% and 13.1% year-over-year, with the average price of a Model 3 now just over $26,000.

It comes as a growing number of Tesla owners sell their vehicles as global protests against Tesla CEO Musk gather momentum.

Used car site Autotrader saw a record number of Tesla listings in March, according to its parent organization, Cox Automotive, while data from Edmunds reported by Reuters suggested that Tesla trade-ins hit a record high last month.

Fred McKinney loved his Tesla. He bought his first car—a Tesla Model 3—in November 2018 and describes himself as a Tesla evangelist. Over the last few months, he's come to regret it.

"It was a great car," McKinney, co-founder of the economic consulting company BJM Solutions, told Fortune. "And I wasn't just a casual Tesla owner, I was an evangelist for the vehicle and the company, and quite frankly, for Musk."

"I have remorse now about that because he's proven to be someone that doesn't deserve my support."

McKinney sold his Tesla in February, swapping it out for an alternative electric vehicle. He cites Musk's role in the Trump administration, especially his connection to the cost-cutting team DOGE, as the reason. "It was a political decision but also a moral decision," he said. "I see the damage that [DOGE] is doing to the fabric of our society."

McKinney didn't know he was part of a wider movement when he ditched the car.

"When I sold my car, the uprising that is now taking place around the world was probably in its infancy, and I didn't know anything about it, but I was comforted to see that others felt the same way," he said.

Over the last few months, protests against Tesla have erupted worldwide—some peaceful, while others have involved vandalism and arson. The efforts have caused the EV maker’s stock to plummet, tanked car sales, and angered investors.

TESLA RECALLS ALL CYBERSUCKS

Tesla has been forced to recall every Cybersuck it has ever sold after safety regulators raised an issue with the glue used to attach one of its stainless steel panels. 

The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) will oversee the recall of 46,100 Cybersucks, marking the eighth recall for Tesla’s electric pickup truck since deliveries to customers began just over a year ago. 

A report from the NHTSA warned that an exterior panel that runs along the left and right side of the windscreen can detach while driving, creating a hazard for other drivers.
