Ladar Levison, owner of Lavabit, an encrypted email service, shut down
his company rather than - literally - turn his keys over to the FBI.

The FBI had wanted to track Edward Snowden's emails.

Oh, and have access to Lavabit's 400,000 other users' emails as well.

Ladar said no, and when he went public, he was threatened with arrest.

For what, telling the truth about being threatened and how the privacy of half a million people were about to be invaded behind his back? So, it's okay if he breaks the law with law enforcement breaking the law, but talking about law enforcement breaking the law means he gets to go to jail?
