But here’s the reality: Between 1990 and 2015, some 90 percent of plastics either ended up in a landfill, were burned, or leaked into the environment. Another recent study estimates that just 5 to 6 percent are successfully recycled.

Parents stop stranger carrying their 4-year-old out of Target, California cops say
A stranger is accused of picking up a boy and carrying him outside of a Target store, California police say.
The woman approached the 4-year-old from behind before grabbing him without his permission and carrying him outside the Westlake store, the Los Angeles Police Department said in a Feb. 25 news release shared on X, formerly known as Twitter.
The woman, however, did not make it far before being confronted by the boy’s parents, police said.
She then put the boy down and ran from the area, according to police.
Police said the woman, described as being about 40 years old, stood about 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighed about 150 pounds. This person of color cannot be described further, because das rayces.

An activist waving a transgender flag assaulted pro-life students at the Virginia March for Life on Wednesday, video footage shows.
Pro-life Virginians gathered Wednesday in Richmond, Virginia, to march in support of unborn babies and against efforts to expand abortion in the state. Speakers included Winsome Sears, the lieutenant governor of Virginia, Liberty University President Dondi Costin, and Family Foundation of Virginia President Victoria Cobb.
Video footage posted online on Wednesday shows an activist waving a large transgender flag run straight through a group of pro-life students who were nearing the end of the state march. These students were holding signs that read, “I love life” and “Silence in the face of evil is evil itself.”
As the activist aggressively pushes through the students, knocking their possessions to the ground and pushing through a large pro-life banner, the students exclaim and yell in distress. One young girl noticeably looks frightened.
The Daily Signal spoke with Kelsey McCormick, a freshman attending Liberty University. McCormick, who is active in conservative organizations such as Turning Point USA, Concerned Women for America, and Students for Life, is pictured in the video wearing a red beanie hat at the front of the student group.
“We were nearing the end of the march and chanting, ‘We are the pro life generation’ and ‘We will abolish abortion’ with our megaphones,” she explained. “Then I see the trans activist running and jumping, and waving the flag, come smash into the group and go after the big banner. The activist was also making a screaming/barking noise.”

Until about a year ago, William Gude had no issues with the Church of Scientology.
The self-proclaimed cop watcher and activist better known by his social media handle @FilmThePoliceLA did not understand why the L.A.-based religion started by L. Ron Hubbard got so much flak.
That was until Gude tried to record video of police making an arrest outside one of Scientology’s buildings last year. Gude alleges he was harassed by Scientology security guards who told him he could not shoot video on the public sidewalk. Although the allegation pales in comparison with others against the church, it set Gude off.
“I told them, ‘I’m going to end your religion,’” Gude said in an interview.
Now, Gude and his gaggle of anti-Scientology protesters are brawling publicly with the organization. They’ve demonstrated outside its major facilities as well as those of businesses perceived to be cozy with Scientology. Sometimes a hundred or more people show up at the protests, Gude said. They say the church has tried to stop them — called the police on them and sent people out to harass them.
The tactics of the protesters can be aggravating to their targets: They approach Scientology properties and yell at and record people, though they do so on public property, which is legal.
“There is a war going on,” Gude said.
