I had friends like this not long ago. Let me tell you, beneath the
veneer of reddit quirk and formal pleasantries, these are some of the
most awful people you will ever meet. They are EXTREMELY catty, to the
point where they just casually tell each other to kill themselves over
minor peeves. I watched them bully and ostracize people like it was
nothing to them. Doesn't matter if they're old friends of many years.
One month you're all getting high, gaming, saying nigger and just
laughing at everything. The next month one of them starts showing signs
of trooning out, than all of the sudden if someone just says 'retard'
all of the sudden it's cause for commotion.
Something changes in them
and they just start sinking. Even as our friend group got smaller and
smaller, even after I saw them chew through every single one of our
friends and discard them like they were trash. Than they did it to me.
Now it's just the 3 of them. All of them are either gay or trans (2 gay
guys 1 'they/them' girl) and they pushed out every single person who
ever cared for them. They went from being the most chill people you
could hang around to becoming these demonic sociopathic and vindictive
assholes. They're constantly purity spiraling and one upping each other.
You have to watch your language around them or they will explode in to a
full on mental breakdown. They flat out lie about people, tell others
to stop talking to other people over the most minor of issues.
How does
this happen to people? How can you just self destruct like this and why
is it contagious? (demons) We went from being a group of 6 out of school and were
as tight as you could imagine. But once the trooning started, they
pushed everyone away who also didn't troon with them. And like I said
earlier, it's just the 3 of them now and they treat the rest of us like
we're garbage. It doesn't matter how we approach them. And it was never
even clear what we'd done to them to deserve it.
It's like they've been possessed by demons who use the hosts memory to
hurt those around them. Like one of the guys from our group was
overweight, bullied a lot and we took him in. We were all sort of nerdy
rejects who sympathized with other kids who were bullied. But after the
trooning happened they were full on bullying buddy for his weight and
saying they hope he dies, all because he didn't full grasp the politics
of lefty troons. He was still their friend, he still wanted to be their
friend, he just didn't understand the politics of it or the temperament.
Walking on eggshells, never knowing what will piss them off. Than two
or three innocuous comments later all of the sudden they're making the
most ruthless jabs at his weight, calling him every name you can imagine
and saying they hope he dies or kills himself.
They did this one after
another until we were all gone and it was just the three of them. They
were cocked like loaded pistols. Just complaining all the time about how
much their lives suck, how much they hate Conservatives, how much they
hate their parents and people who are 'normal.' And if you didn't humor
and coddle them 110% you were in their crosshairs. If you offered any
advice or tried to make plans to help them with something they've been
putting off, they would remarks how you're just like everyone else who
doesn't 'get' them and all of the sudden you're the enemy. It's now free
range to say the most awful things to and about you. Soon after they
discard you like you're trash.
