iPhones are surprisingly active in the middle of the night, according to a report by Washington Post Technology writer, Geoffrey Fowler.
Fowler tracked his iPhone's activity recently, finding that dozens of companies were receiving information at all hours.
On a recent Monday night, a dozen marketing companies, research firms and other personal data guzzlers got reports from my iPhone.
At 11:43 p.m., a company called Amplitude learned my phone number,
email and exact location. At 3:58 a.m., another called Appboy got a
digital fingerprint of my phone. At 6:25 a.m., a tracker called Demdex
received a way to identify my phone and sent back a list of other
trackers to pair up with.
And all night long, there was some startling behavior by a household name: Yelp. It was receiving a message that included my IP address -— once every five minutes. -WaPo
Also not lost on Fowler was the irony of a January Apple advertisement which claimed "What happens on your iPhone stays on your iPhone."
iPhone apps passing information in the middle of the night
include Microsoft OneDrive, Intuit’s Mint, Nike, Spotify, The Washington
Post and IBM’s the Weather Channel. "One app, the crime-alert service Citizen, shared personally identifiable information in violation of its published privacy policy," Fowler notes.
With the help of privacy firm Disconnect, Fowler encountered over 5,400 trackers in just one week -
mostly within apps, that send his information to third party companies.
Over the course of a month, the unwanted trackers were on track to
upload 1.5 gigabytes of data.
"This is your data. Why should it even leave your phone? Why should
it be collected by someone when you don’t know what they’re going to do
with it?" said former NSA researcher Patrick Jackson who is currently
Disconnect's chief technology officer. Jackson used special software to

"I know the value of data, and I don’t want mine in any hands where it doesn’t need to be," he said.
In a world of data brokers, Jackson is the data breaker. He developed an app called Privacy Pro that
identifies and blocks many trackers. If you’re a little bit techie, I
recommend trying the free iOS version to glimpse the secret life of your
iPhone.
Yes, trackers are a problem on phones running Google’s Android, too. Google won’t even let Disconnect’s tracker-protection software into its Play Store. (Google’s rules prohibit apps that might interfere with another app displaying ads.)
Part of Jackson’s objection to trackers is that
many feed the personal data economy, used to target us for marketing and
political messaging. Facebook’s fiascos have made us all more aware of how our data can be passed along, stolen and misused — but Cambridge Analytica was just the beginning.

App Trackers are akin to the cookies used on websites that monitor and report your activity around the internet. In apps, however, there's virtually no notice that this is happening, and they're difficult to block.
So why do the trackers activate in the middle of the night? Some
appmakers set them to harvest data whenever the phone is plugged in, or
they think it won't interfere with other functions. According to Fowler,
"These late-night encounters happen on the iPhone if you have allowed “background app refresh,” which is Apple’s default."
In the case of Yelp, the company said their app's behavior wasn't
actually a tracker, rather, an "unintended issue" that's been mimicking a
tracker. According to the company, Fowler's discovery only affects 1% of its iOS users,
especially those who have made reservations through Apple Maps. "At
best, it is shoddy software that sent Yelp data it didn’t need. At
worst, Yelp was amassing a data trove that could be used to map people’s
travels, even when they weren’t using its app," notes Fowler.
Popular food delivery app DoorDash is another harvesting offender - which uses a tracker called Sift Science to get a 'fingerprint' of your phone -
including device name, model, ad identifier and memory size, as well as
an accelerometer motion reading to help identify fraud (so they say). Three other trackers used by DoorDash monitor the app's performance, including one called Segment which routes data such as the delivery address, name, email and cell carrier of the phone's owner.
DoorDash’s other five trackers, including Facebook
and Google Ad Services, help it understand the effectiveness of its
marketing. Their presence means Facebook and Google know every time you open DoorDash.
The delivery company tells me it doesn’t allow trackers to sell or share our data, which is great. But its privacy policy throws its hands up in the air: “DoorDash is not responsible for the privacy practices of these entities,” it says.
All but one of DoorDash’s nine trackers made Jackson’s naughty list for Disconnect, which also powers the Firefox browser’s private browsing mode.
To him, any third party that collects and retains our data is suspect
unless it also has pro-consumer privacy policies like limiting data
retention time and anonymizing data. -WaPo
Some of the other companies mentioned, including Microsoft, Nike and
the Weather Channel, insist that their trackers are to improve
performance. The Intuit-owned Mint, says it uses Adobe's marketing
tracker to better advertise to Mint users. The Washington Post (awkward)
told their employee that the trackers "were used to make sure ads
worked." Spotify simply directed Fowler to their privacy policy.
Citizen, the app for location-based crime reporting, said in their
privacy policy that they wouldn't share "your name or other personally
identifying information." When Fowler ran his test, however, he found that "it repeatedly sent my phone number, email and exact GPS coordinates to the tracker Amplitude."
It was only after Citizen was contacted about this that they removed the Amplitude tracker.
"We will do a better job of making sure our privacy policy is clear
about the specific types of data we share with providers like these,"
said Citizen spokesman J. Peter Donald, who added "We do not sell user
data. We never have and never will." What does Apple have to say about all of this?
Fowler was disappointed at the orgy of data harvesting happening at
all hours, and asked "isn't Apple supposed to be better at privacy?"
"At Apple we do a great deal to help users keep their data private,"
Apple said in a statement. "Apple hardware and software are designed to
provide advanced security and privacy at every level of the system."
"For the data and services that apps create on their own, our App
Store Guidelines require developers to have clearly posted privacy
policies and to ask users for permission to collect data before doing
so. When we learn that apps have not followed our Guidelines in these
areas, we either make apps change their practice or keep those apps from
being on the store," said Apple.
Except that Fowler found that very few apps using third-party
trackers were actually disclosing the names of those companies, or how
they protect his data.
Getting more deeply involved in app data practices
is complicated for Apple. Today’s technology frequently is built on
third-party services, so Apple couldn’t simply ban all connections to
outside servers. And some companies are so big they don’t even need the
help of outsiders to track us.
The result shouldn’t be to increase Apple’s power.
“I would like to make sure they’re not stifling innovation,” says Andrés
Arrieta, the director of consumer privacy engineering at the Electronic
Frontier Foundation. If Apple becomes the Internet’s privacy police, it
could shut down rivals. -WaPo
Disconnect's Jackson suggested that Apple might
consider adding controls built into the iOS which would give people more
visibility, or require apps to clearly disclose when they're using
third-party trackers.
" If I opened the DoorDash app and saw nine tracker notices, it might make me think twice about using it," concludes Fowler. Indeed.

Littlestown High School student Jeremy Gebhart and a friend say they
decided to show support for President Trump back in October during the
school’s spirit week. Someone snapped a pic of them which eventually
made it to the school yearbook … albeit with an alteration.
“We were like they blurred our hats out!” Gebhart said.
According to FOX-43,
Gebhart alleges his First Amendment rights were violated. “Everybody
has First Amendment rights, freedom of speech and they are allowed to
think what they want and say what they want but they aren’y allowed to
take that away from other people.
“I just think that whoever did this doesn’t like Trump,” Gebhart said.
“I was infuriated because he wears that hat because he supports our president,” said Lorriane Gebhart, Jeremy’s mother. “He’s not doing anything illegal he’s wearing a hat of support,” she added. …
Gebhart says she is disappointed in the school’s decision to blur the hats.

The radical-leftist governor of New Mexico, who sent National Guard
troops packing in February, needs federal help now, it seems. She’s in
the Swamp to beg for funding as illegal immigrants overwhelm the state. After months of neglecting the border cities and towns, toeing the DC elite party line of no “crisis” here, and facing a veritable citizens’ revolt in the Land of Enchantment, Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham is demanding federal government assistance for the dire situation – one she exacerbated through indifference to constituents.

Michelle Lujan Grisham And it comes on the heels of yet another county drawing a
line in the sand and refusing any further influx of illegal immigrants
seeking asylum. Sierra County, boasting a population 11,116 and
a 21% poverty rate, joined Otero and Lincoln counties in passing
resolutions opposing the relocation of migrants to their communities.
This isn’t just happening in these three counties, either – it’s an
untenable and cruel situation being thrust on an impoverished state by
government officials who seem to be mere puppets for the Democratic
Party.
According to Deming City Administrator Aaron Sera, in Luna County,
buses unload between 300 and 500 immigrants each day. As a town of a
14,183, it has been mercilessly overwhelmed by the governor’s dangerous
game of partisan politics. Even larger enclaves, such as Las Cruces,
have been overrun with
illegal aliens, completely depleting community and local government
resources as they’re forced to house and care for 6,000 asylum seekers –
and all in a matter of four short weeks.
Drawing An Uncrossable Line
Otero County Commission Chairman Couy Griffin is a vocal detractor of
what he believes are dangerous decisions coming from Grisham. Griffin
is an advocate of legal immigration and stands firm in the
belief that sheltering illegals sends the wrong message to other Central
Americans, who see an opportunity to enter the United States illegally.
“If you begin to feed pigeons in the parking lot, pretty soon you have
every pigeon in town,” Griffin said. He has asked President Trump to
close the border after resources were removed from a local, heavily
trafficked checkpoint. Tripp Stelnicki, the governor’s spokesman, claims there is no
evidence humanitarian aid would encourage other Guatemalans, El
Salvadorans, or Hondurans to make the trek north. Well, it isn’t much of a deterrent, either.
The Watershed Decision
In February, Grisham made national news for thumbing her nose at the president, her citizens, and national security when she sent the National Guard packing. She
blithely stated: “New Mexico will not take part in the president’s
charade of border fear-mongering,” and received a blast of positive
kudos from Democrat toadies in the Swamp. It fit their narrative perfectly and from a border state to boot.
New Mexico accepts and feeds 5000 illegals newly arrived, each and every day in total. Now, every town and village is swarming with stealing, robbing, raping illegals who want YOUR STUFF. That's what the police are reporting at least, massive crime waves all over the state.
But three short months later, after recall and impeachment petitions,
shameful national news coverage of cities and towns overwhelmed by the
“charade,” and 31 of 33 counties expressing their disdain for Grisham
through resolutions, the governor is now asking President Trump and the
Department of Homeland Security for their help. This two faced cow has forced her satanic elite programming onto every single community in her state, and has ruined them. Not bad for only being in office a few months. That's one way to burn down a country...fill it with robbers and thieves who have not a thing to lose. But you have EVERYTHING TO LOSE.
“The governor wants to continue to urge the federal
government to increase its personnel on the border as a means of
improving the logistical and communications output,” said
spokesman Tripp Stelnicki, whose head must be spinning like a top after
Grisham’s desperate about face. He also hinted that the events in Otero
County may be spiking fear in Grisham as other municipalities and
counties are jumping on Griffin’s bandwagon. And frankly, no one is
buying what Grisham is selling anymore.
Steve Pearce, Chairman of the New Mexico Republican Party, who ran against Grisham in 2018 for the role of governor, reminded:
“She declares there’s no crisis. She removes the National Guard and now she’s there asking for money. Everything
in her actions indicate that she believes there’s a crisis, but yet she
will not dedicate the resources or request to her colleagues in
Congress to start passing the laws that will change the situation
there.”
The Trump administration will ensure that resources for the state are
granted but it won’t come for free – there will a pound of flesh
extracted from the foolish New
Mexico governor to be spiked and paraded through the 2020 election.
Perhaps after a disastrous first quarter in office, Grisham will begin
to listen to her constituents. But it’s doubtful – which is why a recall
or impeachment is still being pursued by citizens. What should terrify
the governor is this highly motivated electorate, bent on removing her
from office – and that describes the uprising in the Land of Enchantment
to a “T.”

In controversial “implicit bias” training, New York City’s
public-school educators have been told to focus on black children over
white ones — and one Jewish superintendent who described her family’s
Holocaust tragedies was scolded and humiliated, according to firsthand
accounts.
A consultant hired by the city Department of Education told
administrators at a workshop that “racial equity” means favoring black
children regardless of their socio-economic status, sources said.
“If I had a poor white male student and I had a middle-class black
boy, I would actually put my equitable strategies and interventions into
that middle class black boy because over the course of his lifetime he
will have less access and less opportunities than that poor white boy,”
the consultant, Darnisa Amante, is quoted as saying by those in the
room.
“That’s what racial equity is,” Amante explained.
Mona Davids, president of the NYC Parents Union, was appalled.
“It’s completely absurd — they want to treat black students as
victims and punish white students. That defeats the purpose of what bias
awareness training should be,” said Davids, who is black.
DOE spokesman Will Mantell would not say whether Chancellor Richard
Carranza supports Amante’s statement about favoring black children.
“Anti-bias and equity trainings are about creating high expectations
and improving outcomes for all of our students,” Mantell said in a
statement. “These trainings are used across the country because they
help kids, and out-of-context quotes and anonymous allegations just
distract from this important work.”
The DOE’s anti-bias training
— a $23 million mandatory program for all DOE employees — has irked
some administrators, teachers and parents who contend parts are ugly and
divisive.
Four white female DOE executives demoted under Carranza’s new regime plan to sue the city for racial discrimination, claiming whiteness has become “toxic,” The Post revealed last week.
At a monthly superintendents meeting in the spring of 2018, shortly
after Carranza’s arrival, members were asked to share answers to the
question: “What lived experience inspires you as a leader to fight for
equity?”
One Jewish superintendent shared stories about her grandmother Malka
who told of bombs falling in Lodz, Poland, and running from the Nazis in
the wee hours by packing up her four children and hiding in the forest,
and her grandfather Naftali, who spent nearly six years in a labor and
concentration camp, where he witnessed the brutal execution of his
mother and sister.
“My grandparents taught me to understand the dangers of ‘targeted
racism’ or the exclusion of any group, and the importance of equity for
all people. This is my core value as an educator,” the superintendent
told colleagues.
“At the break, I stood up and, to my surprise, I was verbally
attacked by a black superintendent in front of my colleagues. She said
‘This is not about being Jewish! It’s about black and brown boys of
color only. You better check yourself.’”
“I was traumatized,” the Jewish educator said. “ It was like 1939 all
over again. I couldn’t believe this could happen to me in NYC!”
However, two other superintendents — one black and one Dominican —
defended the Holocaust comments as valid and vouched for their colleague
as one who fights to level the playing field for all students.
In Manhattan, a middle-school teacher with her own kids in public
schools, said the DOE training “is a catalyst for hate and division.”
“I have colleagues who won’t participate during ‘Courageous
Conversations’ (the DOE protocol for implicit-bias workshops) because
they don’t feel safe.”
She cringes at training phrases like “replacement thinking” and the disdain for “whiteness.”
“My ancestors were enslaved and murdered because of their religion, I
am now being forced to become ‘liberated’ from my whiteness. I am being
persecuted because of the circumstances of my birth. I was not aware
that I needed to be liberated from how God created me.”
Despite Carranza’s contention that those who complain about the
training need it the most, she said, “I will never be brainwashed by
Richard Carranza and his minions. I cannot support a schools chancellor
who is implicitly biased against me and my children.”
Emboldened by his support, some of Carranza’s top managers openly use
the expression “disrupt and dismantle” as a new battle cry for equity.
In her training session in February 2019, consultant Amante told DOE
higher-ups to face the fact that issues of race, power and privilege
will rise to the forefront and shake things up.
“Through this process of moving towards racial equity, we will have
to pull layers back on who we are. You are going to have to talk about
your power and your privilege. You will need to name your privilege,”
Amante is quoted as saying.
She also warned that jobs in the new climate may be shaky.
“You are going to have to acknowledge that you will have to step
back. You might fear losing your job. When we get to true racial equity
you will have to define new institutional policies. This might feel
dangerous because you are going to have to talk about race daily.”
Amante, a lecturer at Harvard University Graduate School of
Education, is CEO of Disruptive Equity Education Project, or DEEP, a
group aimed at “dismantling systemic oppression and racism,” it says.
She did not respond to emails seeking comment.
The DOE’s Office of Equity and Access has contracted DEEP for
$175,000. Another anti-bias consultant, Glenn Singleton, the author of
“Courageous Conversations,” which includes a critique of the “white
supremacy culture,” has a $775,000 contract. (There are NO white supremacists. That's a leftist fictional lie. DB)
Some parent leaders support Carranza’s campaign.
“We agree with the chancellor that those who do not see the value in
this work are the ones who must look inward harder,” said Shino
Tanikawa, a parent in Manhattan’s District 2 and member of Mayor de
Blasio’s School Diversity Advisory Group.
“This work requires everyone, including people of color, to look
inward and confront prejudices we all harbor. For some of us, this work
also requires us to acknowledge the privilege bestowed upon us by the
power structure. It creates a great deal of discomfort but that is the
nature of the work. Disrupting the system is difficult and sometimes
painful.”
Rep. Mark Meadows questioned “what
on earth was the point of a taxpayer funded special counsel if we’re
going to demand every witness testify again - after the case is already
closed?”
Let me answer that for you, Mark. The (dimocrat) point of the
taxpayer funded special counsel was to manufacture charges to use to
impeach Trump and get the 2016 election nullified. Mueller did not
deliver after trying really hard for 2 years to come up with something
that would stick. So now (dimocrat) congress wants to do the
investigation again after lowering the bar for 'evidence' to some level
that will allow some kind of impeachable offense. If that doesn't
stick, then at least they can hobble Trump until the 2020 election with
ongoing investigations and subpoenas and whatnot... when they plan on
sweeping the house, senate, presidency and all the federal courts and
take over the country. Their dreams of controlling everyone else so
that they can personally be comfortable and rich is animating them.
You know, history is making more and more sense to me as the libs
come out of the closet and say what they really think. The party of
slavery and Jim Crow and segregation wants to be benevolent benefactors
of the unwashed slaves, dictating policy and doling out trinkets to keep
their sheep docile. In return, the sheep produce the funds and votes
to keep the benefactors in power and wealth. It's really a very
insidious and racist platform that's all papered over and hidden by
smooth salesmanship and twisting the meaning of words. Their whole
platform and reason for living is a giant lie -- that very last thing
they want in the world is independent thinking and entreprenurial
citizens who don't want to be controlled.
Here's something else I've noticed: Usually when a liberal is
accusing someone of doing or thinking something, they are actually
projecting their own "sin" onto someone else in order to distract from
their own guilt. It's actually pretty obvious to see if you know this
ahead of time. Probably the best comeback for whenever a
liberal/leftist accuses you of something is just the old schoolground
"I'm rubber, you're glue" defense, which I'm sure would infuriate them
because you are calling out their own guilt and in a childish way that
they can understand.
The Democrats have had some worthy ideas in the past that
maybe Conservatives just don't consider. But they have recently in the
last 10-20 years given themselves permission to abandon decorum and
cooperation in pursuit of their ultimate goal of complete federal
government control of all citizen behavior. Not sure yet why it's come
to a head lately, but must have something to do with the takeover of the
education, media and judicial systems. I guess they feel like they
finally have enough power to override opposition to the plan - either
that or they are just really frustrated that they cannot get a majority
mob to do their bidding (yet).

Connecticut U.S. Attorney John Durham was appointed to investigate
the origins of the Russia-Trump probe. Apparently, he has been on the
job for weeks. Durham is the perfect investigator for the job by all
accounts and he had experience with Robert Mueller in the Whitey Bulger
case. He did not side with Mueller and Mueller’s agents suffered the consequences of Mueller’s, some would say, corrupt leadership.
THE WHITEY BULGER CASE
Back in the late 1990s, there were “allegations that FBI
informants James ‘Whitey’ Bulger and Stephen ‘The Rifleman’ Flemmi had
corrupted their handlers.
So, in 1999, Janet Reno appointed John Durham as Special Prosecutor and charged him with investigating FBI corruption in Boston.
As it turned out, FBI agents aided mass murderer, Whitey Bulger and hid his crimes. Bulger was a protected informant. Durham sent one agent involved to prison for 10 years.
Then-US Attorney, Robert Mueller is probably the one who should have
landed in the pen. He allowed four innocent men to be sent to prison for
a murder he knew they didn’t commit. He did it to protect Bulger.
One of the four men was in Florida at the time of the murder and could not have committed the murder.
When Durham went through the documents. He found that the four men, Enrico Tameleo, Joseph Salvati, Peter J. Limone, and Louis Greco, had actually been framed.
Four people who were innocent were kept in jail for years in order to protect the status of Whitey Bulger as an FBI informant.
The Boston Globe wrote:
“[Mike] Albano [former Parole Board Member who was threatened by two
F.B.I. agents for considering parole for the men imprisoned for a crime
they did not commit] was appalled that, later that same year, Mueller
was appointed FBI director, because it was Mueller, first as an
assistant US attorney then as the acting U.S. attorney in Boston, who
wrote letters to the parole and pardons board throughout the 1980s
opposing clemency for the four men framed by FBI lies. Of course,
Mueller was also in that position while Whitey Bulger was helping the
FBI cart off his criminal competitors even as he buried bodies in
shallow graves along the Neponset…”
In December 2000, Durham revealed secret FBI documents that convinced
a judge to vacate the 1968 murder convictions of ”four other FBI
informants because they’d been framed by Robert Mueller’s FBI.
“In 2007,” to help protect Whitey Bulger (that’s what all those
people were held in jail for) “the documents helped Salvati, Limone, and
the families of the two other men who had died in prison to win a US
$101.7 million civil judgment against the government.” Durham got the two surviving framed men released from prison.
Robert Mueller was knee-deep in this scandal, along with Andrew Weissman and the agent sent to prison, but because Reno gave him very limited authority, Durham was not able to prosecute Mueller, who was not in the FBI at the time. Mueller kept four innocent people in jail for years to protect the informant status of Whitey Bulger,
a mass-murdering Boston mobster who ended up dying in California, and
it ended up costing the government $100 million plus in civil judgments.
ALAN DERSHOWITZ CALLED MUELLER A “ZEALOT”
Harvard professor Alan Dershowitz, calling Mueller a “zealot,” he reminded Mueller supporters about the former FBI director’s role in protecting “notorious mass murderer” Whitey Bulger as an FBI informant.
“I think Mueller is a zealot,” Dershowitz told “The Cats Roundtable” on 970 AM-N.Y. “. . . I don’t think he cares whether he hurts Democrats or Republicans, but he’s a partisan and zealot.
“He’s the guy who kept four innocent people in prison for many years
in order to protect the cover of Whitey Bulger as an FBI informer. Those
of us in Boston don’t have such high regard for Mueller because we
remember this story. The government had to pay out tens of millions of
dollars because Whitey Bulger, a notorious mass murderer, became a
government informer against the mafia . . . “And that’s regarded in Boston of one of the great scandals of modern judicial history. And Mueller was right at the center of it. So, he is not without criticism by people who know him in Boston.”
HOW DID MUELLER BECOME THE SPECIAL PROSECUTOR?
There were other cases in which Mueller behaved scandalously, here and here. Former U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, Sydney Powell tells the same story. She calls them creeps on a mission and has a website of the same name detailing the offenses of Mueller and Weissman. How did Robert Mueller end up as the Special Prosecutor? Thank a Democrat. The Democrats insisted he was a great man of inviolable character. They said he was the impeccable man and investigator.
There is also the fact that Rod Rosenstein seems to think well of him. You can be sure there are a lot of people losing sleep knowing Durham is on the case. You might have noticed Rod Rosenstein, the former Deputy Attorney General, is out trashing Jim Comey.
For his part, Jim Comey hasn’t written anything inspirational or
anti-Trump on Twitter for four days. He has been giving a lot of public
speeches lately. Maybe he should shut up.
Yesterday Alexander Cockburn reminded us of the news Israel Shamir and Paul Bennett
broke at Counterpunch in September. Julian Assange’s chief accuser in
Sweden has a significant history of work with anti-Castro groups, at
least one of which is US funded and openly supported by a former CIA
agent convicted in the mass murder of seventy three Cubans on an
airliner he was involved in blowing up.
Anna Ardin
(the official complainant) is often described by the media as a
“leftist”. She has ties to the US-financed anti-Castro and
anti-communist groups. She published her anti-Castro diatribes (see here and here) in the Swedish-language publication Revista de Asignaturas Cubanas put out by Misceláneas de Cuba.
From Oslo, Professor Michael Seltzer points out that this periodical is
the product of a well-financed anti-Castro organization in Sweden. He
further notes that the group is connected with Union Liberal Cubana led by Carlos Alberto Montaner whose CIA ties were exposed here.

Ardin’s history in Cuba with a US funded group openly supported by a
real terrorist: Luis Posada Carriles.
In Cuba she interacted with the feminist anti-Castro group Las damas de blanco
(the Ladies in White). This group receives US government funds and the
convicted anti-communist terrorist Luis Posada Carriles is a friend and supporter.
Wikipedia quotes Hebe de Bonafini, president of the Argentine Madres de
Plaza de Mayo as saying that “the so-called Ladies in White defend the
terrorism of the United States.”

On the margin of his media news shows, Montaner’s is known for his
fanatic support of the most extreme elements of the Cuban-American

Last year, in the wake of the coup d’état against Honduran President
Manuel Zelaya, June 28, he became an fervent supporter of the dictator
Roberto Micheletti, along with U.S. Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen,
and another Cuban-American terrorist and CIA collaborator, Armando
Valladares.
Montaner showed up repeatedly in Tegucigalpa to “defend human
rights,” and at the same time to applaud the fascist Honduran regime
when it unleashed its police on demonstrations by the National
Resistance Front.
Apparently having consensual sex in Sweden without a
condom is punishable by a term of imprisonment of a minimum of two years
for rape. That is the basis for a reinstitution of rape charges against
WikiLeaks figurehead Julian Assange that is destined to make Sweden and
its justice system the laughing stock of the world and dramatically
damage its reputation as a model of modernity.
Sweden’s Public Prosecutor’s Office was embarrassed in August this
year when it leaked to the media that it was seeking to arrest Assange
for rape, then on the same day withdrew the arrest warrant because in
its own words there was “no evidence”. The damage to Assange’s
reputation is incalculable. More than three quarters of internet
references to his name refer to rape. Now, three months on and three
prosecutors later, the Swedes seem to be clear on their basis to
proceed. Consensual sex that started out with a condom ended up without
one, ergo, the sex was not consensual.
I’ve spent much of my professional life as a psychiatrist helping
women (and men) who are survivors of sexual violence. Rape is a hideous
crime. Yet in Assange’s case his alleged victim – the gender equity
officer at Uppsala University – chose to throw a party for her alleged
assailant – after they’d had the sex that even Swedish prosecutors concede was consensual. Barrister Caitlin again:
[The] phenomena of social networking through the internet
and mobile phones constrains Swedish authorities from augmenting the
evidence against Assange because it would look even less credible in the
face of tweets by Anna Ardin and SMS texts by Sofia Wilén boasting of their respective conquests after the “crimes”.
In the case of Ardin it is clear that she has thrown a party in
Assange’s honour at her flat after the “crime” and tweeted to her
followers that she is with the “the world’s coolest smartest people,
it’s amazing!”. Go on the internet and see for yourself. That Ardin has
sought unsuccessfully to delete these exculpatory tweets from the public
record should be a matter of grave concern. That she has published on
the internet a guide on how to get revenge on cheating boyfriends ever
graver. The exact content of Wilén’s mobile phone texts is not yet known
but their bragging and exculpatory character has been confirmed by
Swedish prosecutors. Neither Wilén’s nor Ardin’s texts complain of rape.
Small world, isn’t it? Julian Assange is the human face of Wikileaks
– the organization that’s enabled whistle-blowers to reveal hideous war
crimes and expose much of America’s foreign policy to the world.
He just happens to meet a Swedish woman who just happens to have been
publishing her work in a well-funded anti-Castro group that just
happens to have links with a group led by a man at least one journalist
describes as an agent of the CIA: the violent secret arm of America’s
foreign policy.
And she just happens to have been expelled from Cuba, which just
happens to be the global symbol of successful defiance of American
foreign policy.
And – despite her work in Sweden upholding the human right of gender
equity – in Cuba she just happens to end up associating with a group
openly supported by an admitted CIA agent who himself committed mass
murder when he actively participated in the terrorist bombing of a
jetliner carrying a Cuban sports team…an act that was of a piece with
America’s secret foreign policy of violent attacks against Cuban state
interests.
And now she just happens – after admittedly consensual sex – to have
gone to Swedish authorities to report the sex ended without a
condom…which just happens to be the pretext for Interpol to issue a “Red
Notice” informing the world’s police forces of charges against Julian
Assange.
Who just happens to be the man America’s political class – the people
who run America’s foreign policy – have been trying to silence. And
who happens to be the man some of them have been calling to have
murdered.
With a lust for vengeance like that, one could be forgiven for
concluding they’ve just happened to have taken a page from Anna’s
revenge manual.
Whoever controls Venezuela, controls vast oil reserves and energy. Venezuelans want to control for their own selves, not the satanic elite. Hence the years of attacks, embargoes that have impoverished the country, and attempted coupes.
The "victim", Ardin, is a well-known CIA asset overseas with ties to Cuban groups and other intelligence field assets.
I am slightly updating and reposting this from 2012 because the
mainstream media have ensured very few people know the detail of the
“case” against Julian Assange in Sweden. The UN Working Group ruled that
Assange ought never to have been arrested in the UK in the first place
because there is no case, and no genuine investigation. Read this and
you will know why.
The other thing not widely understood is there is NO JURY in a rape
trial in Sweden and it is a SECRET TRIAL. All of the evidence, all of
the witnesses, are heard in secret. No public, no jury, no media. The
only public part is the charging and the verdict. There is a judge and
two advisers directly appointed by political parties. So you never would
get to understand how plainly the case is a stitch-up. Unless you read
this.
There are so many inconsistencies in Anna Ardin’s accusation of
sexual assault against Julian Assange. But the key question which leaps
out at me – and which strangely I have not seen asked anywhere else –
is this: Why did Anna Ardin not warn Sofia Wilen?
On 16 August, Julian Assange had sex with Sofia Wilen. Sofia had
become known in the Swedish group around Assange for the shocking pink
cashmere sweater she had worn in the front row of Assange’s press
conference. Anna Ardin knew Assange was planning to have sex with Sofia
Wilen. On 17 August, Ardin texted a friend who was looking for Assange:
“He’s not here. He’s planned to have sex with the
cashmere girl every evening, but not made it. Maybe he finally found
time yesterday?”
Yet Ardin later testified
that just three days earlier, on 13 August, she had been sexually
assaulted by Assange; an assault so serious she was willing to try (with
great success) to ruin Julian Assange’s entire life. She was also to
state that this assault involved enforced unprotected sex and she was
concerned about HIV.
If Ardin really believed that on 13 August Assange had forced
unprotected sex on her and this could have transmitted HIV, why did she
make no attempt to warn Sofia Wilen that Wilen was in danger of her
life? And why was Ardin discussing with Assange his desire for sex with
Wilen, and texting about it to friends, with no evident disapproval or
discouragement?
Ardin had Wilen’s contact details and indeed had organised her
registration for the press conference. She could have warned her. But
she didn’t.
Let us fit that into a very brief survey of the whole Ardin/Assange relationship. .
11 August: Assange arrives in Stockholm for a press conference organised by a branch of the Social Democratic Party.
Anna Ardin has offered her one bed flat for him to stay in as she will be away.
13 August: Ardin comes back early. She has dinner with Assange and
they have consensual sex, on the first day of meeting. Ardin
subsequently alleges this turned into assault by surreptitious
mutilation of the condom.
14 August: Anna volunteers to act as Julian’s press secretary. She
sits next to him on the dais at his press conference. Assange meets
Sofia Wilen there. Anna tweets at 14.00:
‘Julian wants to go to a crayfish party, anyone have a couple of available seats tonight or tomorrow? #fb’
This attempt to find a crayfish party fails, so Ardin organises one
herself for him, in a garden outside her flat. Anna and Julian seem good
together. One guest hears Anna rib Assange that she thought “you had
dumped me” when he got up from bed early that morning. Another offers to
Anna that Julian can leave her flat and come stay with them. She replies:
“He can stay with me.”
15 August Still at the crayfish party with Julian, Anna tweets:
‘Sitting outdoors at 02:00 and hardly freezing with the world’s coolest smartest people, it’s amazing! #fb’
Julian and Anna, according to both their police testimonies, sleep
again in the same single bed, and continue to do so for the next few
days. Assange tells police they continue to have sex; Anna tells police
they do not. That evening, Anna and Julian go together to, and leave
together from, a dinner with the leadership of the Pirate Party. They
again sleep in the same bed.
16 August: Julian goes to have sex with Sofia Wilen: Ardin does not warn her of potential sexual assault.
Another friend offers Anna to take over housing Julian. Anna again refuses.
20 August: After Sofia Wilen contacts her to say she is worried about STD’s including HIV after unprotected sex with Julian, Anna takes her to
see Anna’s friend, fellow Social Democrat member, former colleague on
the same ballot in a council election, and campaigning feminist police
officer, Irmeli Krans. Ardin tells Wilen the police can compel Assange
to take an HIV test. Ardin sits in throughout Wilen’s unrecorded – in
breach of procedure – police interview. Krans prepares a statement
accusing Assange of rape. Wilen refuses to sign it.
21 August Having heard Wilen’s interview and Krans’ statement from it, Ardin makes her own police statement alleging Assange has surreptiously had unprotected sex with her eight days previously.
Some days later: Ardin produces a broken condom to the police as
evidence; but a forensic examination finds no traces of Assange’s – or
anyone else’s – DNA on it, and indeed it is apparently unused.
No witness has come forward to say that Ardin complained of sexual
assault by Assange before Wilen’s Ardin-arranged interview with Krans –
and Wilen came forward not to complain of an assault, but enquire about
STDs. Wilen refused to sign the statement alleging rape, which was drawn
up by Ardin’s friend Krans in Ardin’s presence. It is therefore plain that one of two things happened: Either
Ardin was sexually assaulted with unprotected sex, but failed to warn
Wilen when she knew Assange was going to see her in hope of sex.
Ardin also continued to host Assange, help him, appear in public and
private with him, act as his press secretary, and sleep in the same bed
with him, refusing repeated offers to accommodate him elsewhere, all
after he assaulted her. Or
Ardin wanted sex with Assange – from whatever motive.. She
“unexpectedly” returned home early after offering him the use of her one
bed flat while she was away. By her own admission, she had consensual
sex with him, within hours of meeting him.
She discussed with Assange his desire for sex with Wilen, and appears
at least not to have been discouraging. Hearing of Wilen’s concern
about HIV after unprotected sex, she took Wilen to her campaigning
feminist friend, policewoman Irmeli Krans, in order to twist Wilen’s
story into a sexual assault – very easy given Sweden’s astonishing
“second-wave feminism” rape laws. Wilen refused to sign.
At the police station on 20 August, Wilen texted a friend at 14.25
“did not want to put any charges against JA but the police wanted to get
a grip on him.”
At 17.26 she texted that she was “shocked when they arrested JA because I only wanted him to take a test”.
The next evening at 22.22 she texted “it was the police who fabricated the charges”.
Ardin then made up her own story of sexual assault. As so many
friends knew she was having sex with Assange, she could not claim
non-consensual sex. So she manufactured her story to fit in with Wilen’s
concerns by alleging the affair of the torn condom. But the torn condom
she produced has no trace of Assange on it. It is impossible to wear a
condom and not leave a DNA trace. Conclusion
I have no difficulty in saying that I firmly believe Ardin to be a
liar. For her story to be true involves acceptance of behaviour which
is, in the literal sense, incredible.
Ardin’s story is of course incredibly weak, but that does not matter.
Firstly, you were never supposed to see all this detail. Rape trials in
Sweden are held entirely in secret. There is no jury, and the
government appointed judge is flanked by assessors appointed directly by
political parties. If Assange goes to Sweden, he will disappear into
jail, the trial will be secret, and the next thing you will hear is that
he is guilty and a rapist.
Secondly, of course, it does not matter the evidence is so weak, as
just to cry rape is to tarnish a man’s reputation forever. Anna Ardin
has already succeeded in ruining much of the work and life of Assange.
The details of the story being pathetic is unimportant. By crying rape, politically correct opinion falls in behind the line
that it is wrong even to look at the evidence. If you are not allowed to
know who the accuser is, how can you find out that she worked with
CIA-funded anti-Castro groups in Havana and Miami?
Finally, to those useful idiots who claim that the way to test these
matters is in court, I would say of course, you are right, we should
trust the state always, fit-ups never happen, and we should absolutely
condemn the disgraceful behaviour of those who campaigned for the Birmingham Six.
