They are the children of Cain. Christ directly called them out on this
2,000 years ago. The Pharisees said they were the descendents of
Abraham, and Christ said no, you aren't, because you don't behave like
Abraham. If you were related to him by blood, you would act like him.
You are like your true father, who was a liar and a murderer from the
beginning (i.e. Cain).
He rebuked them twice over this topic.
It's also worth noting that if you construct the New Testament timeline
in chronological order, the Pharisees didn't begin actively plotting to
murder Christ until after he did this. They merely hated him before this
moment; after it, they wanted him dead.
Jews are of the blood
of Cain, and Cain's murderous impulses and impudent nature are stamped
indelibly upon them. Cain's blood endured through the Hittites, then the
Edomites, then the Pharisees and the 'fake' Judeans who originated in
foreign lands. Even though they've mixed with a hundred other tribes
down the ages, their fundamental character has never changed, not even
slightly. Modern jews STILL worship Moloch and loathe God. They still
dream of sodomizing infants in fertility rites and then burning them
alive and eating their flesh.
What greater condemnation of their
character can exist, than how unchanged they have remained even after
all this time? That they still act like Cain, that they still worship
Moloch, that they still act out on impulses of cannibalism and blood
libel?
Christ was right about the Pharisees. The jews are not the children of Abraham.
