Gettysburg mayor facing child sex crimes, accused of grooming 16-year-old boy
High and Low, the crimes are the same - going after children. And yeah, the National Battlefield Gettysburg.
GETTYSBURG, Pa. (WHP) — Weeks after he stepped down as Mayor of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) have filed child sex crime charges against Chad-Alan Carr.
PSP announced on Friday that Carr had turned himself into troopers. CBS 21 has obtained his charging documents, which claim he solicited a 16-year-old boy for sexual photos and groomed him while Carr worked at the Gettysburg Community Theater.
According to an affidavit of probable cause, the investigation began February 24 when a childline report was made.
The victim reportedly spoke with investigators around 2:10 p.m. the next day. PSP said the victim told them Carr was the suspect and that the two had also worked together at the Gettysburg Community Theater.
According to the court documents, the victim told state police that he and Carr first met when he was 8-years-old. However, troopers say the alleged abuse didn't start until years later.
State Police said the victim told them he and Carr started working together at the Gettysburg Community Theater when the victim was 14. Initially very rude to students, the victim claimed Carr became very kind to him around his sophomore year and began asking him how to get in touch.
Court documents allege that the sexual acts between Carr and the teen began in 2013, when the victim was around the age of 16, and continued until he was 17.
