As of 7 p.m., there were about 272 outages, 34,485 customers without power and nearly 50 power poles were snapped clean in half and will need to be replaced. As they are able, crews will isolate the outages to the smallest number of customers possible while they make repairs, according to NV Energy.
They are claiming 70mph winds did this. No way. I've been in 120 mph winds and every pole around was fine. When you see the damage, the poles, both oak and metal, were snapped in two along the ENTIRE LENGTH of Tropicana Blvd.

Pay attention to the trees all around, not touched, all leaves on. But the power poles, every single one for MILES was taken out by something VERY BIG.
And only Power Lines.
Everything else is fine, except the power poles. Over 50 of them.
